My experience at Attain has been fantastic. I chose it because of all the positive reviews, and they were correct. It is a very welcoming, and professional place. Tiana my physiotherapist has been so great with helping me regain strength and walk again after a heel fracture. She really listens to my concerns, and creates specific stretches and exercises for my injury. I would recommend it to anyone in search of proper active physiotherapy.

Physiotherapy FAQ's

What is Different About Physiotherapy at Attain Health?

At Attain Health our physiotherapists focus on fixing the root causes, healing, and pain reduction, as well as any sport specific demands your activity places on your body. We will work with you on your goals to get you feeling and moving your best.

At Attain Health, physiotherapists use hands-on treatment, including joint and soft tissue mobilization, manipulation, and myofascial release, to help reduce pain and improve movement.

They also prescribe therapeutic exercises to loosen tight muscles and fascia, improve strength and joint stability, and support better mobility, balance, and overall performance. In some cases, treatment may also include acupuncture or ultrasound.

Your pelvic floor muscles are a group of muscles that sit inside of the base of your pelvis and surround the genitals, pelvic organs and pelvic joints. Pelvic floor dysfunction occurs when these muscles are too tight or weak and can cause pelvic pain, painful intercourse, and bladder/bowel issues.

Pelvic floor physiotherapy is used to assess, diagnose, and treat problems related to the pelvic floor muscles. Just like other muscles in your body, your pelvic floor muscles need a balance of strength, mobility, and flexibility to function well. Pelvic floor physiotherapy helps to restore imbalances so that the body can move and function as it was designed to.

  • Pelvic Pain
  • Bladder/bowel issues (incontinence, dribbling)
  • Painful intercourse
  • Prenatal/Postnatal Dysfunction
  • Pelvic organ prolapse
  • Diastasic rectus abdominus (abdominal “separation”)
  • Pubic symphysis dysfunction
  • Groin pain

Your first visit is about an hour and includes a full discussion about your symptoms, health history, and how the condition is affecting your daily life, mood, and relationships.

The assessment takes a whole-body approach and may include the abdomen, back, and pelvis. An internal vaginal or rectal exam may be recommended to assess pelvic floor function more accurately, but only with your consent, and treatment can still be effective without it.

The session usually ends with treatment and follow-up recommendations, which may include education, hands-on therapy, exercises, and activity changes.

You can find our clinic at 27 Ridout Street West, Tillsonburg, which is just west off of Broadway. There are typically parking spaces available right on the street, and we do have a wheelchair accessible ramp.
