Frequently Asked Questions

How Long Is The First Visit?

The initial assessment will take approximately 40 minutes. During this appointment, the therapist will take a detailed medical and injury history. The therapist will ask you about your goals, to better understand how they can help you.

The therapist will then perform a physical assessment to determine the root cause of the problem and develop a treatment plan to get you on the road to recovery.

Future visits will be 15-30 minutes depending on the nature and complexity of the problem.

What Should I Wear?

On your first visit wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely and allows the therapist to see the affected area.

What Forms of Treatment Should I Expect?

Every person requires different kinds of treatment for the problem they have. During a session, the physiotherapist may use functional movement screens, soft tissue release techniques, mobilizations (to loosen stiff joints), acupuncture, dry needling, and corrective exercises.

I’m Nervous About Getting Acupuncture. Do I Need It?

Every treatment plan is designed specifically for you. If there is a treatment you are nervous about, let your physiotherapist know. The therapist will always work with you to create a treatment plan that fits your needs.

No one will ever perform a treatment on you that you don’t want.

Do I Need A Doctor’s Referral?

You no longer need a doctor’s referral for physiotherapy services. You are welcome to book in to see a physiotherapist when you need to.

Some insurance companies do require a doctor’s referral to cover physiotherapy services. We recommend you check your insurance company’s website or call them to check.

I Have Insurance. How Does That Work?

After your appointment is completed, we will provide you with a receipt. Log in to your insurance provider’s website then enter the information on the receipt they ask for.

We also offer direct billing. Direct billing allows us to bill your insurance company directly. This way you don’t have to wait for your insurance company to reimburse you. We offer this service free of charge.

Every insurance plan is different and we recommend you review your insurance coverage prior to coming in.
