Our clinic at 27 Ridout St W, in Tillsonburg

My experience at Attain has been fantastic. I chose it because of all the positive reviews, and they were correct. It is a very welcoming, and professional place. Tiana my physiotherapist has been so great with helping me regain strength and walk again after a heel fracture. She really listens to my concerns, and creates specific stretches and exercises for my injury. I would recommend it to anyone in search of proper active physiotherapy.

Physiotherapy FAQ's

What is Different About Physiotherapy at Attain Health?

At Attain Health our physiotherapists focus on fixing the root causes, healing, and pain reduction, as well as any sport specific demands your activity places on your body. We will work with you on your goals to get you feeling and moving your best

What Types of Treatment are Involved in Physiotherapy?

Our physiotherapists utilize manual, hands on therapy, joint and soft tissue mobilization and manipulation, and myofascial release. Therapeutic exercises are prescribed for a variety of purposes, including mobilizing joints, relaxing tight muscles, tendons and fascia, improving muscle strength and joint stability. Our goal at Attain Health is to improve functional mobility and balance, reduce pain, and enhance performance. Additionally our physiotherapists may use acupuncture or ultrasound in addition to therapeutic exercises.

What is Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy?

Your pelvic floor muscles are a group of muscles that sit inside of the base of your pelvis and surround the genitals, pelvic organs and pelvic joints. Pelvic floor dysfunction occurs when these muscles are too tight or weak and can cause pelvic pain, painful intercourse, and bladder/bowel issues.

Pelvic floor physiotherapy is used to assess, diagnose, and treat problems related to the pelvic floor muscles. Just like other muscles in your body, your pelvic floor muscles need a balance of strength, mobility, and flexibility to function well. Pelvic floor physiotherapy helps to restore imbalances so that the body can move and function as it was designed to.

What are the Common Conditions Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy can Help?
  • Pelvic Pain
  • Bladder/bowel issues (incontinence, dribbling)
  • Painful intercourse
  • Prenatal/Postnatal Dysfunction
  • Pelvic organ prolapse
  • Diastasic rectus abdominus (abdominal “separation”)
  • Pubic symphysis dysfunction
  • Groin pain
What can I Expect at your First Pelvic Floor Physio Appointment?

The first visit is about an hour, this provides time to share your story and how your condition is impacting your life, moods, and relationships. You will receive forms ahead of your appointment to fill out which detail your health history, these will be reviewed during the assessment as well.

Next, we take a whole-body approach to the assessment and treatment of your condition. This may include an assessment of your abdomen, back, pelvis. To get the clearest picture of how things are functioning, an internal vaginal and/or rectal exam may be suggested. This allows us to more specifically assess pelvic floor muscle’s strength, tone, endurance and coordination. Please note no assessment or treatment technique will EVER be carried out without your consent. If you choose not to participate in an internal exam your physiotherapist can still work with you to provide an effective treatment plan.

The first session will conclude with treatment and follow-up recommendations. Treatment may include education, manual therapy, stretching and/or strengthening exercises, activity modification, or other therapeutic modalities.

Where are you Located?
