Attain Health’s Osteopath

Mackenzie Reimer, M. OMSc. OSTCAN Certified

Mackenzie Reimer has always had a passion for holistic health and helping others feel their best. She started her post-secondary schooling at the University of Waterloo in kinesiology before transferring over to the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy.

After experiencing the profound impacts of osteopathy personally, she pursued the field herself so she could deliver similar results to others. In her practice, she strives to find the root cause of one’s discomfort through aligning the structures of the body so that it can self-heal and self-regulate.

The human body functions as one unit, so with every appointment there is a full-body assessment and treatment tailored to the unique patient at hand.

Osteopath FAQ's

Is Osteopathy Covered Under Insurance/Benefits?

Osteopathy is covered under most insurance plans. If you are unsure, check with your benefits provider.

What can I Expect at my Initial Visit?

At your initial appointment your osteopath will discuss your health concerns and learn more about your current health needs. The osteopath will conduct a physical exam that will help them develop a treatment plan. During a physical exam, you may be asked to demonstrate simple movements and stretches.

This will help your provider assess your mobility and posture and the health of your ligaments, tissues, and joints. They will also use a technique called palpation to assess your joints and tissues. Palpation is a hands-on technique that utilizes touch, pressure, and gentle manipulation of a body area to evaluate its condition.

Does Getting Osteopathic Treated Hurt?

Treatment shouldn’t be painful, in fact osteopathic treatment is known for being gentle and non invasive. If you ever have any concerns don’t hesitate to bring them up.

What Should I Wear to my Osteopath Appointment?

Wear loose fitting clothing that allows you to move freely. At a typical appointment you will not be asked to take your clothes off at any point in time.

Where are you Located?
You can find our clinic at 27 Ridout Street West, Tillsonburg, which is just west off of Broadway. There are typically parking spaces available right on the street, and we do have a wheelchair accessible ramp.
